2023 Strategic Program Speakers
Hasmik Asmaryan is the Director of Business, Employment, and Training Services (BETS) at the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS). She immigrated to Canada in 2013 as a qualified, skilled worker through the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Hasmik initially joined CCIS as a student and volunteer in early 2013, and within a few months, she became part of the BETS division's staff. Over the past ten years, she has held various roles, working in programs funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, and various ministries of the Province of Alberta.
Hasmik holds an MSc. Degree in Geology from Armenia and MSc. Degree in Environmental Sciences from the Netherlands, and she completed her MSc in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary earlier this year. In addition to her academic achievements, Hasmik has undergone training in Communication, Project Management, Organizational Psychology, Indigenous Relations, Environmental and Social Governance, Professional Roles and Ethics, Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution, and Facilitating Career Success in Canada.
Hasmik actively participates in community initiatives and has volunteered with the City of Calgary, non-profit organizations, academia, and professional associations.
